As the World sits back

As the world sits back and watches carefully prepared media broadcasts and reads news articles written by journalists with political agendas we begin to see hints of the next stage in the path to World War Three.

Russia the country “struggling” to win in Ukraine is sending weapons to Iran. Israel bombing Lebanon in preparation for a ground invasion. Iran promising something more than drones and nukes. The Americans cashing in by shipping billions of dollars worth of weapons into these war zones. Meanwhile the loyal American puppy dog that is the UK gives away sovereignty of Chagos to Mauritius in return for a 99 year lease on a US/UK base there. What exactly does that achieve except any attacker on such a base would risk war with Mauritius too?

Within the next month Lebanon will likely become a war zone. If it is not it’ll only be because the US isn’t yet willing to put boots on the ground. And frankly Israel will need that kind of help as it’s not got the numbers for a war against Iran and its allies.

With Russia having thrown it’s hat in the ring with Iran you can bet Ukraine will be defeated. Russia’s main strength has never been high tech weaponry, it’s always lagged behind. If it joins any coming war in the Middle East it would allow Russia to fully mobilise its military age population. They’ll outnumber Ukrainian forces many times over. Sweeping away any minor technological advantage the West might have given Ukraine. I don’t see Europe immediately mobilising to retake Ukraine if Russia stops at it’s borders. Europe will want to keep the actual fighting in the Middle East for as long as possible.

So as the world sits back and watches what does a potential Third World War mean for Scottish independence? Well for that we can look back to 1918. After World War one the Irish independence movement was full of experienced soldiers, unwilling to take accept British control.

With a lack of political will in Scotland to do something to gain independence, I find it a hell of a thing as a man who detests violence to be sitting here thinking that should we all survive, a Third World War could be the forge that forms an independent Scotland.
