Save the Union
2014 was a disaster for the SNP and the attempt to save the Union had won. SNP support plummeted as the party lost the one policy that brought them success at the elections, independence. They were defeated and the three main Unionist parties started to slice into what support they had left. Then the Tory party determined not to lose to UKIP decided to champion Brexit. They handed the SNP the material change in circumstances that revived their independence policy. Any argument about the Scottish independence referendum being a “once in a generation event frankly became irrelevant overnight. The Scots are going to become independent sooner rather than later without immediate action by the British State. The self-serving interests of the Tory party are the reason the SNP are in such a commanding position. Polls now put Scottish independence support over 50% due to Brexit.
Think about this
Imagine an SNP without independence as their main policy again? Imagine not being able to call upon Scottish independence supporters for votes? Instead the SNP would have to rely on their other policies. The ones that Labour, Lib-Dems and the Tories might be able to gain ground on. Now for Scotland to stay in its place there is one last hope to save the Union. A second independence referendum!
We all know the “Once in a generation” mantra from the Tories on TV. It’s repeated blindly by the social media warriors but it simply doesn’t fly. Instead the Great British people of Scotland should once again prove that they are the majority. So why not use that majority?
Instead every day Brits all over the UK listen to a buffoon of a Prime Minister. Boris wants to keep denying a movement spurred on by the lack of democratic process by denying democratic process. Did Britain losing an entire empire to political movements struggling for democracy not teach him anything? A second Independence referendum within a year of Brexit would only strengthen our democracy. It would end the SNP separatists once and for all. British parties will regain control over Scotland in a single term of the Scottish Parliament.
Continue down this path of stupidity with Boris and the Queen will reign over a broken Kingdom before she dies.
