I have no doubt

I have no doubt that there are many, many members of all independence supporting parties and independence candidates who truly believe in Scottish independence. That is beyond doubt. However party politics will never lead to another independence vote and here’s why.

The English State know they will lose.

You vote for your local party candidate and frankly who they are doesn’t matter does it? If you get a famous name great but they are from your party and they support independence so you vote for them. If there is a list vote you look for another party candidate and you list them as your first choice. That should sound familiar to us all. We’ve done it this way for over a decade.

The problem is those votes do not automatically mean you are getting an independence referendum. No party can promise you that not Alba, not SNP, no one. Your votes only put politicians bums in seats at Westminster and Holyrood. That’s all and that is when your hopes for independence fall to pieces.

Right away that MPs or MSPs Salary becomes the main source of income for the people you voted for. So now your Scottish independence candidate relies upon the English State to earn a living. Does anyone else not see the problem here?

“But independence will mean they will receive their pay from the Scottish State.”

Not the MPs, they are in jobs that will no longer exist after independence. Holyrood too must be reshaped as it is only designed to be a colonial administration. MSPs may lose their jobs. Think about the last time you heard an elected independence politician saying they were looking forward to losing their job? Chances are they were retiring from politics and about to start getting a hefty pension from the English State. Ask a serving one what their plans to find another job after independence are?

So what is my solution?

I have no doubt when I say this. The Scottish people must mobilise in our millions and peacefully take possession of the Holyrood Parliament building from the UK. We must become resolved not to leave until the elected First Minister of Scotland whoever that may be announces the date of the second Scottish Independence referendum. Scots must stand strong in the face of the undoubted intimidation the British will bring to bear against the Scottish people in our own country. We must show that we will no longer be forced to be British against our will.

I know millions of people will not fit inside the Parliament however the surrounding streets and parks can be used too, this would essentially surround Holyrood Palace too but that is just an added bonus. Those who cannot make it into Edinburgh can still help by going to local council headquarters and taking peaceful possession of them. This would demonstrate nationwide action and split any British response, stretching their resources which can only help the main display of sovereign power at Holyrood.
